Policy: RLN maintains a high level of professionalism and a working and learning environment free of all forms of discrimination. The RLN staff, trainers/instructors, and others representing RLN must not discriminate against anyone based on, but not limited to: race; color; religion; genetic information; national origin; sex; pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions; age; disability; citizenship status; uniform service-member status; or any other protected class under federal, state, or local law. No discriminator behavior or remarks will be tolerated, and may lead to termination and/or removal from future instructor/presenter roster.
Purpose: To ensure professional conduct from RLN staff and maintain a learning environment that is free from discrimination or discriminatory behavior in and out of the classroom.
RLN, as a non‐profit, does not have a proprietary interest in any product, instrument, device, service or material that is used in any training program. RLN’s funding comes from individual membership dues and donations. When funding comes from a corporate foundation, no requirement to promote a product exists. All compensation provided to guest trainers is provided by RLN, and staff comply with all employment‐related policies. When resources are recommended or products are mentioned in a training session, the trainer clarifies that RLN receives no direct or indirect compensation or support from the product or service.
Policy: Trainers/instructors will, upon mention of any commercial product, service or resource, tell the learners that RLN receives no compensation or support from the company and it is merely being offered as information to the learner, who must conduct their own research and review of its appropriateness to their situation.
